These people are my absolute heroes. I am glad the women had a significant role to play, even if the entire crowd looked a bit serious. When might the photo have been taken?
Exposures in those days were probably 2 or 3 seconds so people used to sit still and serious..... so they didnt "blur out". In 1884 led to the Morris's foundation of the breakaway Socialist League, Morris died in 1896 so I would guess this was taken during the riots of 1886.
